A Platform Built from Passion and Expertise

Galapatours was founded in 2017 by Benno Schmidt after he personally explored the Galapagos and realized how difficult it was for travelers to compare boats transparently. Determined to solve this, he built a platform offering real photos, route details, sustainability information and honest evaluations. What began as a passion project evolved into the leading independent resource for booking Galapagos cruises with clarity and confidence.

Meet the Galapatours Director

Micaela García leads Galapatours with deep local insight and strong ties to Galapagos operators, naturalist guides and vessel crews. Having spent extensive time in the archipelago, she brings firsthand experience of the boats, routes and wildlife encounters. Her leadership ensures that every recommendation on the platform remains transparent, expert-driven and rooted in real exploration, making Galapatours the most trusted starting point for choosing a Galapagos cruise.
