The birth of China Tours

Chinaventura was born from the vision of Liu Guosheng, who founded the original company, China Tours, in Hamburg in 1996. What began as a way to share his homeland with friends soon became a lifelong mission: to build bridges between China and the world through meaningful travel.

In 2021, China Tours became part of Ventura Travel. After Covid, we rebuilt the China Tours team and even expanded into the French source market. This led the brand to be the only one within Ventura to have two different names: China Tours in the German market and Chinaventura in the French market.

Today, it continues this legacy under the direction of Jessica Kuehn, who brings her deep passion for Chinese culture, history, and cuisine to every journey. Together with trusted local partners, our team designs authentic small-group adventures that reveal the real China: respectful, human, and full of discovery.

In early 2024, Jessica Kuehn took the lead of Chinaventura, bringing with her years of experience living in Shanghai and a lifelong curiosity for Chinese culture, history, and cuisine. Guided by the vision of founder Liu Guosheng, she continues to build bridges between China and the rest of the world. For Jessica, every journey is an opportunity to show travelers the many layers of China, a country both ancient and modern, vast yet intimate, where every encounter tells a story.
