Ventura TRAVEL and its brands support human rights and environmental due diligence legislation

For a legal regulation of human rights and environmental due diligence obligations

Ventura TRAVEL and its brands support the initiative of Business & Human Rights Resource Centre  about the debate on a possible legal regulation concerning respect for human rights in the economic and business context. Human rights and environmental due diligence legislation would help create both legal certainty and a level playing field. It would ensure everyone is held to the same standard and no company is able to evade its responsibilities without consequences or make profits at the expense of people and nature.
Ventura TRAVEL welcomes a due diligence law in Germany that paves the way for ambitious regulation at the European level. You can read our statement here.
Companies such as Tchibo, Vaude, Studiosus Reisen, GEPA and the Bank for Church and Caritas have also signed this statement so far.

Logo-1We respect Human Rights

Respect, esteem and equality are the cornerstones of Ventura TRAVEL and its brands. Respect for human rights in tourism is a major concern. We have been an active member of the Roundtable for Human Rights in Tourism for many years. We check, among other things, whether our partners comply with the statutory wage regulations and youth employment protection laws for example. We also support the campaign "Nicht wegsehen" ("Don't look away"), which aims to protect children in holiday destinations from sexual violence and exploitation.

We support the international Human Rights Day

Human Rights Day is celebrated every year on the 10th December, the day on which the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948.
This document was a milestone that proclaimed inalienable rights to which everyone is entitled as a human being regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. This document is available in more than 500 languages and is the most translated document in the world.
